Mercator gave up construction on one of bought locations in Kragujevac
"It is still uncertain whether Slovenian company Mercator will have the trade center built on one of two locations it bought in Kragujevac", said city architect Miodrag Popović.
Three years ago, Mercator rented land on two locations, on surface of 2.2 ha on period of 99 years, and paid about 180 million CSD for that.
Popović added that, after the city administration sent the invitation to the representatives of Mercator to come to Kragujevac and respond whether they will have the facility built in that city, the director of that company for Serbia, Vladimir Kravčuk, had paid him a visit on Friday.
Kravčuk said that its board of directors would meet on April 18 and discuss the development issues related not only to the rental of land in Kragujevac, but also in the other cities in Serbia, so that he would visit them again in one month.
Only then will be known whether Mercator will have the facilities built in Kragujevac.
Popović said that the general opinion was that `Mercator` would give up location in settlement Aerodrom and that the construction of the facility on the other location would start the next year if at all.
