Economy Fair in Mostar opens – 26 companies from Serbia exhibiting

The 25th International Economy Fair has opened today. It will feature 800 exhibitors from 30 countries of the region and the EU, among which are 26 companies from Serbia. The fair lasts until April 20, and Croatia is the partner country.

The opening of the fair was attended by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, the president of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Kristo, the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, the prime minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Viskovic, the prime minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, and the representative of the EU, Miroslav Lajcak.

Vucic said that, for the economic cooperation in the region, it was very important that Air Serbia had established traffic between Belgrade and Serbia the day before.

– I am sure that, in a year or two, it will be one of the best lines that Herzegovina will have with the world, but also Belgrade and Serbia. Thank you for the good calculation and the smart approach to the future of the region – said Vucic.

He pointed out that the region could develop much faster if the economic cooperation was boosted and invited companies from Serbia to cooperate with companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

– This is not the first time for us to meet here. We can socialize and discuss all topics, and then we often start arguing, so that people from Europe can’t see it, and our goal becomes for the other one not to succeed. I hope that we will change that – said Vucic.

The external trade between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was worth EUR 2.99 billion in 2023.

The export of goods from Serbia reached EUR 1.96 billion, whereas the surplus on the Serbian side is EUR 954.2 million. The most important products which Serbia put on the BiH market in 2023 were mineral fuels, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, machines and devices, plastic and plastic products, road vehicle parts, iron and steel and grains.
