New Building of 2,200 m2 for Magnetic Knife to Be Built at Clinical Center of Serbia Complex – Looking for Deisgners

The University Clinic Center of Serbia has published the tender for the preparation of the project-technical documentation for the construction of the Radiology Center, the Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Radiotherapy Center – MR LINAC (popularly know as the Magnetic Knife) and a new compressor station. The value of the tender is estimated at RSD 9 million.

The future MR LINAC building will be located within the health complex of the University Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade, next to the X-KNIFE facility, with which it will be connected by a heated corridor whereas, the Gamma Knife facility is across from the so-called aboveground hospital street.

The gross floor area of the MR LINAC facility and the new compressor station facility is 2,200 m2.

Three new devices will be installed in the new facility: one MR LINAC linear accelerator, one magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device and one computerized tomography (CT) device, as well as the preparation of all the necessary technological and technical conditions for their functioning. Side rooms are needed as well, as are doctors’ offices, outpatient clinical, patient preparation rooms, sanitary rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, crawlspaces and machine rooms…

All three devices are to be set up in the basement of the facility, and doctors’ offices, a conference and training center and non-medical rooms are to be located on upper levels.

The previous phase of this project encompasses the preparation of the technical documentation (the urban project and the preliminary design) with the aim of obtaining the location requirements for the MR LINAC space. The location requirements were obtained in February 2021, however, due to the Covid pandemic, the priorities were changes, so the location requirements expired after two years, whereas the preliminary design for MR LINAC no longer meets the needs of the end user.

The selected designers are supposed to prepare the urban project and the preliminary design for MR LINAC for the obtaining of the location requirements, approval planning and the main project for the future construction.
