Guca Trumpet Festival opens
Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexandar Konuzin ceremoniously opened the 51st Trumpet Festival in Guca on Monday. This event will gather 47 bands from Serbia and 9 from abroad, while over 1,000 participants are expected to perform at the festival.
Konuzin raised the festival flag in the center of Guca and, with the sounds of the festival anthem "Sa Ovcara i Kablara" and the gunfire from neighboring hills, opened that traditional event.
- The life of Serbs is not easy, but that does not mean that current difficulties can prevent them from celebrating the holiday of Serbia, Serbian character, culture and Serbdom - Konuzin said and added that Guca would be the capital of Serbia over the next week.
Milenko Kostic, the host of this year's Trumpet Festival, invited all participants and guests from the country and abroad to "forget about the transience of life" during the next seven days.
President of the Festival Board Slobodan Jolovic invited raspberry growers from Arilje to come to the Festival and offer over half a million visitors to taste the world's best fruit.
Guests from abroad, primarily from France, Israel, Slovenia and Czech Republic, have already arrived in Guca.
