ING Banka - Adviser for sale of Mercator
The London-based affiliate of Holland's ING Banka will be the adviser for the sale of a majority stake in Mercator, the largest market chain in Slovenia. What is for sure at the moment is that a 52.1-percent stake in Mercator will be put up for sale. This stake is held by Abanka, Banja Celje, Banka Koper, Gorenjska Banka, Hypo Alpe Adria, NFD 1 investment fund, NFD Holding, NKBM, NLB, Pivovarna Lasko, Pivovarna Union, and Radenska, Finance daily writes.
The sale of this majority stake in Mercator is the second attempt at selling the shares of that market chain this year. Pivovarna Lasko earlier tried to sell a 23.34-percent stake, for which the best offer was given by Ivica Todoric's Agrokor, but the deal was not closed.
It seems that the new attempt may have a different outcome since everything still goes as planned so that the shareholders appointed ING as the adviser. This Dutch bank is also the adviser for the sale of Abanka.
