Mepol back in operation - Vrbas-based factory of plastic packaging gets modern technologies soon
Four months after emerging from bankruptcy, the factory of plastic packaging Mepol is restarting production. According to the five-year reorganization plan, suggested by the company's largest creditor - Swisscor, Mepol should get new technologies in the following period if certain requirements are met.
- After emerging from bankruptcy, Mepol is a new company that starts its operations from scrap. We currently have six workers and we expect Belgrade-based Beohemija to resume its production in our plants in some fifteen days. That means that another six jobs will be created, and we hope for many more vacancies. According to the strategic plan, introduction of new technologies, unique in Serbia, will start the moment Mepol is able to operate by itself - said Mepol CEO Veljko Kovacevic.
The first products to offer to the market will be filter nozzles, which will be delivered to Nikola Tesla steam power plant. Besides, according to the words of Kovacevic, the management of Mepol is negotiating on the establishment of a business cooperation with the company Rade Koncar from Zagreb, as well as with a motor oil manufacturer interested in plastic packaging.
- In the previous period we worked on improving our machines because the equipment required bigger investments and better experts to maintain it after not being used for a long time. We have also defined the product portfolio to market - Kovacevic added.
