Vukan Simic, Founder and Owner of FishingBooker, Pronounced EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 in Serbia

In the Crystal Hall of Hotel Hyatt, the carrier of the prestigious acknowledgment EY Entrepreneur of the Year ™ was pronounced on Thursday evening. The audit and consulting company EY (Ernst&Young) handed out its twelfth award in a row to this year’s winner Vukan Simic, the founder and owner of FishingBooker. The winner received the award from the president of the independent jury, Darko Budec, and Ivan Rakic, Country Managing Partner of EY for the CESA Central Cluster Region and Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition to the main award, EY also handed awards in the subcategories EY Fast-Growing Entrepreneur of the Year, which, for 2023, went to Algotech and its owner and founder, Aleksandar Bakoc, as well as EY Innovative Entrepreneur of the Year, which was awarded to Aleksandar Ignjatovic ahead of Pertini Toys.

I want to thank everybody on behalf of the whole FishingBooker company and I am proud that I will represent our country at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year selection in Monte Carlo – said Vukan Simic, the founder and owner of FishingBooker and EY Entrepreneur of the Year for 2023.

FishingBooker is one of the most successful local startups, which was founded in 2013 by Vukan Simic, a software engineer. This is a platform that is used by recreational fishermen to book fishing tours for any destination in the world that is on offer. FishingBooker is a specialized online travel platform, that is, a software-type agency, oriented toward helping recreational fishermen plan tours for themselves or a group of people quickly and easily at a single click.

As the carrier of the acknowledgment EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2023, Vukan Simic will represent the Republic of Serbia at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year ™ selection in June in Monte Carlo.

Along with the winner of the award, the independent jury also selected the following companies for the main award final: Bohor (Milojko Radovanovic), DMV (Dusan Sarkovic), Jela Jagodina (Miroljub Radovanovic), MIND Group (Marko Milanovic, Darko Djorić) and P.S. Fashion Design (Sladjana Pantovic).
