The president of the Serbian Association of Agricultural Economists, professor Tanja Brankov, PhD, says for RTS that, with the support of the Office for K&M and the Faculty of Economics in Kosovska Mitrovica, representatives of the Association visited the farms that have the potential to produce and sell their products in the territory of central Serbia under a single name, and adds that exporting is another goal.
– A project of donations is being prepared as well, which would help non-commercial farms to survive, as well as a program of support to the keepers of tradition in K&M who breed and farm old, indigenous varieties of livestock, fruit and vegetables – Brankov emphasizes.
Producers from K&M are especially proud of the wines, but also the Sar cheese. Ten liters of milk from the cows and sheep which graze on the Sar Mountain is used for one kilogram of the latter delicacy.
If this project takes root, experts say, it will be a top example of economic patriotism.
By purchasing such products, the consumers not only get a top product, but also the satisfaction of helping agricultural producers in the south Serbian province to stay and persevere.
