Company from Belgrade to Produce Arms in Republika Srpska

At a recent session, the Government of Republika Srpska adopted the Decision on giving approval to the company XPULS doo Banja Luka for carrying out the activity of the production of arms and military equipment.

XPULS is owned by the Belgrade-based company Optoel Robotics doo.

The decision of the Government of RS says that the share percentage of a foreign legal entity can be higher than 49% in the founding capital of the company, “for reasons of a justified interest due to the planned launching of the production, a secured market for products and the employment of workers.”

– The company will mostly produce and sell arms and military equipment for foreign buyers – the decision says.

The decision arrives a month from the adoption of the Law on the Manufacture of Arms and Military Equipment in Republika Srpska, whereby this field is regulated as an activity of strategic interest.

Optoel Robotics, a company registered for non-specialized wholesale trade, has expressed an interest in the military industry of Republika Srpska before. Last summer, it was announced that Fabrika Motora Specijalne Namjene from Pale in bankruptcy could start working again thanks to a partner from Serbia which was looking to reorganize that former military company from Pale.

At the time, the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship of RS told Glas Srpske that, in line with the stipulations of the Law on Bankruptcy Proceedings of RS, Optoel Robotics from Belgrade had expressed an intention for the reorganization of Fabrika Motora Specijalne Namjene and submitted an analysis.

– The planned investments would pertain to the repair of facilities, the overhaul and modernization of the existing usable equipment and the introduction of a standardization system, as well as the procurement of new equipment for machine processing and equipment for mastering the overhaul of tank gearshifts – the competent ministry said.

The website of the Government of RS says that the government is carrying out activities toward finding a strategic partner for this company.
