The reconstruction of the station building of the Novi Sad Rail Station is well on its way, and upon its completion, it will be a fully modern facility, from which fast trains will be managed. This has been announced by the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic.

He reminded that, when the first section of the fast railroad from Belgrade to Novi Sad had been being built, new platforms and a waiting room had been developed and certain parts of the stations important to the functioning of trains had been repaired.

– The full reconstruction of the station was waiting for the continuation of the construction of the railroad toward Subotica and those works are now being done – Vesic said on TV Pink.

He adds that the building raised in 1964 is being fully reconstructed and modernized and that it will get a whole new look. Vesic emphasized that the flat area in front of the station building was also being reconstructed and that, until then, it had not been renewed and that only the paving with slabs toward the platforms had been done. He added that a new façade would be done as well.

– The remote-control center and the center for the management of fast trains will be located there, so the station in Novi Sad will provide full comfort to the passengers, as a modern station building – pointed out Vesic.

He says that the fast railroad from Belgrade through Novi Sad to Subotica will be available to traffic from the spring of 2025, after the construction is finished this year and the new railroad is tested.

The project of the construction of the 108 kilometers of the fast railroad to Subotica also entails the construction of 58 structures, among which is a considerable number of new station buildings.
