Construction of National Stadium in Surcin to Begin on May 1 – Most Beautiful or Second Most Beautiful One in Europe?

The construction of the National Stadium in Belgrade will begin on May 1 in Surcin, where the international exhibition EXPO 2027 will also be, announced the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.

In a public address, he said that he believed that it would be “the most beautiful stadium in Europe,” and according to other opinions, “perhaps the second most beautiful one.”

He announced that delegations of Greek investors, with the prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, would arrive to Belgrade not long after. They intend to take part in the construction of facilities for EXPO, and a visit from Japanese investors, also interested in the exhibition, is expected as well.

Vucic said that he was satisfied with the inflow of foreign direct investments, which had amounted to EUR 4.5 billion the year before, and to EUR 118 million in January 2024.
