Gojkovic noted that the importance of the association was also recognized in the fact that it followed the Belt and Road initiative and added that Serbia adhered to the global development initiatives launched by the People’s Republic of China, according to the website of the Government of Serbia.
She said that “the latest confirmation of the mutual adherence to an all-encompassing cooperation was realized at the Third Belt and Road Forum in Beijing, where numerous new concrete initiatives were formulated in the field of cultural cooperation as well.”
– Cooperation in the field of culture will continue giving considerable contribution to the overall relations, with the openness toward the idea of the Association for the Promotion of Economy, Trade, Culture and Tourism of Serbia and China being a valuable platform of further progress in that field – she said.
The deputy prime minister reminded that, in the preceding ten years, over 50 significant activities had been realized within the Belt and Road initiative, mostly within festivals, fairs and forums.
– We continue strengthening our cooperation. We have adopted a medium-term action plan for the realization of the Belt and Road initiative in the domain of protection of cultural heritage, signed the Agreement on Prevention of Theft, Covert Excavations and Unlawful Import and Export of Cultural Goods, we plan the development of cooperation with Chinese provinces, going from their recognized cultural capacities – she said.
According to her, of significance for the cooperation within the Belt and Road initiative is certainly the improvement of the cooperation with the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade and the operations of the Cultural Center of Serbia “Ivo Andric” in Beijing, for which, for this year alone, a program of the Ministry of Culture with 20 projects was adopted.
