The minister of economy of Serbia, Slobodan Cvetkovic, today signed the agreement on the sale of Hotel Slavija with representatives of the company Matijevic, the ministry announced.

This, the press release says, marks the finalization of this privatization process.

The ministry did not cite the price at which the hotel had been sold to the sole bidder in the privatization procedure.

At the public invitation, which was opened in October, EUR 24.9 million was set as the initial price for taking part in the public bidding, equal to the estimated value of the capital, and Zoran Matijevic, a co-owner of the company Matijevic, stated earlier that their price had been better than the minimum price.

He also announced for the media the company’s plan to put a part of the hotel complex, Hotel Slavija Lux, which used to be a hotel garni (bed and breakfast only), in function as soon as the next year if their offer is accepted, whereas the rest would be prepared for the reception of guests for the specialized international exhibition EXPO 2027.

All three facilities of Hotel Slavija, the old part, the tower and Slavija Lux, have, according to him, 300 rooms, with one, two, or three beds.
