Civil Aviation Directorate: Irregularities at Belgrade Airport Cause of Flight Delays

The operator of the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport did not take all the measures that would secure regular and efficient air traffic at that airport, due to which there have been flight delays in the past days, the Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia announced today.

Through extraordinary inspection supervisions, the directorate has determined that the failure to take adequate measures, primarily the defrosting and the prevention of the freezing of the aircraft, has led to considerable disturbances in the planned flight schedule and frequent delays.

This regulatory and supervisory body has ordered the operator of the Belgrade Airport, the French company Vinci, to carry out urgent measures, procedures and activities for the purpose of removing the noted irregularities and enabling efficient, regular and reliable air traffic at the airport.

It has been announced that the directorate, considering its legal authorizations and responsibilities, while at the same time having in mind the need for the regularity of operations at the Nikola Tesla Airport to be established as soon as possible, will continue with intensive supervisions and with insisting on the urgent implementation of the ordered measures.
