Turkish Fortis Energy Planning Investment in Renewable Energy Sources of 2 GW in Balkans – Developing Three Wind Farm Projects in Serbia

The Turkish producer of renewable energy Fortis Energy has announced that it is developing projects of solar energy, wind energy, biogas and green hydrogen of a total capacity of up to 2 GW in four countries of the Balkans.

Fortis Energy is planning renewable capacities of 1034.8 MW in Serbia, 644 MW in Albania, 252 in Bosnia and Herzegovina and 40.6 MW in North Macedonia.

The Turkish company intends to finish the projects in the next five years.

In December, Fortis Energy announced that it was developing three wind farm projects in Serbia, in Jagodina, Petrovac and Vranje, of a total capacity of 481 MW, expected to be completed by 2026.

Last year, the Turkish company presented the plans for four renewable energy projects in the cities of Fier, Erseke, Klos and Lezhe in Albania.


In North Macedonia, Fortis Energy has completed the installation of a solar power plant of 80 MW in the village of Osmelej in the western part of the country and the construction of a solar power plant of 9.9 MW in Prilep.

Fortis Energy is owned by UCK Holding with the seat in Istanbul, and the focus of their business is on investments in renewable and clean energy.
