(The future look of the planned facility in Cacak) The signing of the agreements with the contractors for the construction of science technology parks in Cacak, Nis and Krusevac is expected in February, the Ministry of Public Investment said for eKapija.

As they told our portal, the bids have been opened, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which published the tender, is currently giving comments on the report.

Let us remind that the tender for the construction and expansion of science-technology parks in Cacak, Krusevac and Nis was opened in September, and the application deadline was November 16, 2023.

In June 2023, the Government of Serbia and the EBRD signed the agreement on the upgrade of the science infrastructure, the construction of new science-technology parks and additional buildings in the existing STPs in the country worth EUR 80 million. The agreement secures EUR 80 million, of which EUR 70 million is meant for the additional construction of science-technology parks (STPs), whereas EUR 10 million is set aside for the BIO 4 campus in Belgrade.

The new facility in Nis, as announced earlier, will be built in the northwestern part of the STP Nis complex, between the multipurpose unit of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and the Students’ Center restaurant, which will entail close to 9,500 m2 meant for office space and 900 to 1,000 square meters meant for laboratory space. The planned capacity of the facility is 700 to 1,000 users.

The City of Cacak is to get EUR 17 million from the Government of Serbia for the construction and equipping of the 2nd phase of the Science-Technology Park, announced the mayor of Cacak, Milun Todorovic. The new building will spread on 12,700 square meters, in the Cer location, where the STP has 6,000 square meters of office space, in which over 30 companies are located.

The construction of a science-technology park, that is, the first building of this complex, which will take up 1.6 hectares, is planned in Krusevac, and the total investment including the equipment amounts to EUR 16.5 million.

The STP will be raised in the location of the former administrative building of HI Zupa in Dedina. It will take up an area of 1.6 hectares, which will feature the main building, conference halls and 39 business modules meant for the operations of tech- and research-oriented companies for over 200 users. In the second part, 14 production modules of 280 m2 each are planned. The total floor area of the halls is around 4,000 m2.
