PowerChina Gifts Wards of the Center for the Protection of Infants, Children and Youth Zvecanska

Representatives of PowerChina have visited the Center for the Protection of Infants, Children and Youth Zvecanska and gave out gifts to the wards of the center.

On behalf of PowerChina, the representatives present at the event were Gao Jinlin, the project manager of the central heating system Obrenovac-New Belgrade, and Xiao Haiyang, HR manager, whereas, on behalf of Zvecanska, Milos Stankovic, the head of the ward, was present.

– PowerChina regularly carries out socially responsible campaigns, that is an important part of our business. It is very important to help the vulnerable groups of the society as much as we can. We decided to donate to the Center for the Protection of Infants, Children and Youth Zvecanska this time. We are glad if we can make somebody happy, especially children. Their joy and smiles are invaluable. New Year is a time for gifting and I hope that, with this example we are setting, we will influence other companies to also be responsible and help as much as they can – stated Gao Jinlin, the project manager of the central heating system Obrenovac-New Belgrade.

The Center for the Protection of Infants, Children and Youth has existed for nearly 150 years. Around 200 children, from newborns to those aged 23, currently stay at the ward, children up to three years of age with regular development and older children with certain developmental and health difficulties. Milos Stankovic, the head of the Ward, says that, thanks to the quality care it provides to children without adequate parental care, the center has been recognized in the public and that every bit of help they get from socially responsible companies means a lot to them.

– As part of corporate responsibility, companies in Serbia express the wish and motivation to help us, agree cooperation with us, a plan, ask us what we need the most in order to improve the quality of care for children who stay here. Today, we got the opportunity to enrich the upcoming holidays for the children. Each of them got a toy, and we also got what we always need, diapers, clothes, towels and technology, in this case, a TV set where the children can watch cartoons. We thank PowerChina for thinking of us and for making the children happy – stated Milos Stankovic.

Stankovic adds that, in addition to the donations, another thing that means a lot to them is the organization of various events, visits to theaters and other institutions, due to introducing children to other people, the outside world, so that they would prepare them as easily as possible for their potential return to their biological or alternative families.
