(Tornik)

Russian, Dutch and Belgian investors have expressed their interest in investing in various types of tourist and sports facilities on Zlatibor mountain. In order for their arrival to be as certain as possible, Cajetina has started dealing with several public service problems on the territory of the municipality. First of all, construction of a wastewater treatment plant on Zlatibor is in the pipeline.

- Construction of a wastewater treatment plant for the settlement Zlatibor should commence in September. We are now collecting funds. We have applied for certain grants from the European funds and the Directorate for Waters, while certain share will be provided by the municipality. The wastewater flow analyses are being performed because the number of visitors on Zlatibor is different in different parts of the whole year, and so is the flow. We expect the project design to be completed soon and the works to start in autumn – Bojana Bozanic from the municipal administration of Cajetina explains for eKapija.

According to Ms. Bozanic, aforementioned plant is worth about EUR 2 million.

The aim of Cajetina is to develop Tornik as well, which is why further improvement of infrastructure in that part of our famous mountain is planned to follow the installation of an artificial snowing system and a new ski lift, construction of a parking lot and reconstruction of roads.

- Our plan is to renovate the water supply network in the settlement Ribnica, at the foot of Tornik. It is a famous tourist settlement that is constantly growing so that it is necessary to ensure a stable supply of water. A water tank has already been made, and the existing water supply network now needs to be renovated and expanded - says Ms. Bozanic.

She says that that project should be finished by the year's end and that they are going to apply for funds from the NIP, which have already been earmarked for the development of Cajetina.

According to the words of our interlocutor, the General Regulation Plan for Cajetina and Zlatibor is already adopted, but it now needs to be approved by the government.

As it was announced earlier, instead of previous 1,300 ha, this strategically important document covers 10,000 ha of land. The most important innovation is the intention to "open" for construction projects certain settlements that have not been that attractive to investors until recently.

Settlements like Gajevo, Semegnjevo, Ribnica, Kobilja Glava, Vodice, will be "covered" by land-utilization plans. That is a precondition for the issuance of a permit for construction on these territories. The motive for the regulation of settlements that are remote from a tourist center is a legal obligation to do that, as well as a growing interest of investors in financing the construction in that area.

A Dutch-Belgian consortium is interested in the construction of a contemporary settlement with houses of wood and stone for rest, while Russians have expressed interest in building houses for rest, with swimming pools and golf courses, on Kobilja Glava.
