Ariston’s Factory to Be First in Industrial Zone North in Nis

After the Government of Serbia promised that the Dutch factory Ariston Climate Solutions would open in Nis, the City of Nis announces that it will be the first factory of a foreign investor to open in the Industrial Zone North. RSD 1 billion will be set aside for the equipping of that zone from the 2024 budget, and those in charge say that the investors have provided clear and precise definitions of their needs.

The opening of the factory for the production of electric household appliances in Nis was announced by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, after the Ministry of Economy had already done so.

The director of the Office for Economic Development of Nis, Dusan Radivojevic, said that the “difficult documentation” for the opening of the Industrial Zone North has been prepared and that it would enable a new 200 hectares of land for investors and their factories.

– It is precisely Ariston that is the first one to realize its investment in that location. Due to that, the most significant investments this year will be made in the Industrial Zone North, which needs to be equipped with utilities and infrastructure. If we know that over 57% of the budget inflow comes from the wage tax, it is clear what kind of a multiple return is realized on the investment in each new job – Radivojevic said.

The head of the City Administration for Finances, Nina Ilic, says that they have been given very clearly and precisely defined needs of the investors for the location to be brought to its purpose in the next year and that investors will buy out portions of the land at auctions.
