The project of the construction of a bridge on the Danube near Backa Palanka has become more concrete with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Serbian authorities and the Spanish company Centunion.

The memorandum was signed by the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, and representatives of Centunion, as announced by the relevant ministry.

– In addition to this bridge, whose length will amount to close to two kilometers, more precisely, 1,915 meters, with access routes that we will build on both sides, we will not just make lives easier for people from Nestin and Vizic, who get their passports stamped up to eight times each day, but also enable the development of Backa Palanka itself – Vesic said.

According to him, the designing of this bridge is planned to take nine months.

The bridge will be designed by the Spanish company Centunion, whose chairman, Javier Krahe Noblett, said that it was a very important step between Serbia and Spain and one of the most important agreements signed in 2023 between those two friendly countries.
