Digitization of Healthcare in Serbia Possible by Using Denmark's Model

The Embassy of Denmark in Serbia and the Government of Serbia are jointly organizing the specialized conference “The Digitization of Healthcare Inspired by the Experience of Successful Digital Solutions in Denmark”, on Thursday, November 30, at the Palace of Serbia.

The conference gathers the biggest experts from institutions and private companies from both countries, with the aim of sharing knowledge and experiences in this field.

For years, Denmark has been at the top of the list of countries when it comes to the degree of the digitization of the public administration, as well as the healthcare itself. The big growth in this area in Denmark is based on the public-private cooperation between the government, the region, the municipalities and the private sector. This kind of a joint engagement in Denmark incites further innovations, making health services even more efficient, the Danish embassy announces.

For the first time in Serbia, the participants will be able to hear a presentation by Jakob Skaarup Nielsen, the CEO of the Danish public-private partnership “Healthcare Denmark”, as well as leading companies in said field, such as OpenTeleHealth, Nets, Falck and Novo Nordisk, which are among the leaders of the wave of digitization of healthcare in Denmark.

On the expert side, the attendees at the conference will be addressed by Djuro Radovic, the deputy minister of health from the Sector for Digitization, and Dejana Rankovic of the Expert Team for Healthcare Digitization of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

At the opening, the participants will be addressed by the ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Serbia, Susanne Shine, and the state secretary at the Ministry of Health, Ferenc Vicko.

– Healthcare digitization is important for both Denmark and Serbia. Both out countries are working hard on the digitization of the health systems. Today, we have here with us the biggest experts in eHealthcare, which enables us to learn from each other. I am looking forward to the continuation of the good cooperation between Denmark and Serbia in the field of healthcare and eHealthcare – Shine says.
