Construction of IT Park in Indjija starts in July 2011 - Jobs for 2,500 people
Construction of IT Park in Indjija is going to start in about 20 days. A total of 25,000 square meters of office space will be built in the first phase, leading to the employment of 2,500 people. This investment is worth about EUR 50 million, Indjija Mayor Goran Jesic told Blic daily.
Construction of IT Park in Indjija was announced in September 2007, but it was stopped because of the crisis. The project investor is India's Embassy Group, which earlier announced that it would build 250,000 square meters of office space in that location over the period of five years, thus enabling the employment of 25,000 workers.
- We have recently issued a building permit to them and the foundation stone should be laid in 20 to 25 days. As the investor announces, the first phase should be completed next year - says Jesic and adds that the complex will be occupied by companies such as Microsoft, IBM, Yahoo, HP, Fideli...
In the meantime, the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Automatics has been opened in Indjija, as a division of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad. Upon graduation, students of this faculty will be able to get a job at one of aforementioned companies.
