EPS developed an AI-augmented system for predicting electricity consumption

The development of infrastructure, the introduction of paperless business and the "Insight into the bill" portal ("Uvid u racun") are this year's the most significant IT achievements of Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), said Miodrag Bogdanovic, director of the Information and Communication Technologies Sector, at the opening of the 18 regional conference "Smart eGovernment 2023".

- EPS is working on the development of e-services in order to provide citizens with even better service. The new portal, bill payment and digitization of other processes are being introduced so that citizens can get everything done from their own homes. EPS has already developed an AI-augmented system for forecasting electricity consumption - said Bogdanovic, as reported by EPS.

In 22 days, 220,000 users and 35,000 payments were registered on the new "Insight into the bill" portal, said Jadranka Ristic, director of the Directorate for Public Supply in EPS.

- The portal, intended for all customers on guaranteed supply, has been launched on November 1 and is the result of the modernization and improvement of the EPS business system. It allows for quick and easy access to an e-account immediately after creation, as well as safe and quick payment without going to the post office or bank. Payment is possible using the IPS scan method or by payment cards. Archives of invoices and payments from the previous three years are also available on the portal - Ristic said.

The portal will continue to be improved. Users will be able to file a complaint, the plan is to make it available in English, and work is underway to introduce a mobile app.
