The police and the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade entered the premises of the PE Post of Serbia on Friday evening. According to unofficial findings of several media, representatives of the police and the prosecutor’s office entered the company in order to inspect its business operations.

As the Blic daily learns, the financing of the rebranding of the company’s logo is being inspected as well.

Let us remind that, several days ago, it was alleged that the company had paid EUR 1.5 million for the rebranding of the logo. The Post of Serbia soon responded, denying these allegations. The director of the Post of Serbia, reacted due to, as he said, “the sensationalist and untrue claim of one of the strikers,”, but also of certain media, concerning the amount allegedly paid and the allegation that the money “has been given to the MP Draginja Vlk.”

It seems like the police and the prosecutor’s office are not the only ones currently giving trouble to the management and the leaders of the Post of Serbia. There’s also the protest which has been going on for days at the company, which was started by the workers due to the work conditions, primarily the low salaries. Although it was announced several days ago that an agreement had been reached with the Government of Serbia about stopping the strike with representatives of the trade union of the employees at the Post and about raising salaries for the company’s workers, employees at the Post pointed out on Friday that those who had attended the talks with representatives of the state did not represent them or their demands and that the Government had reached an agreement with one part of the company’s trade union, and not with the majority who were on the strike.

Although the Post’s employees clearly emphasized on Friday that the strike was to continue and denied that an agreement on stopping the strike had been reached with them, the Post announced that the postal centers in Belgrade and Novi Sad were functional from Friday and that they would continue working during the weekend, in three shifts.

– A full normalization of the postal traffic in the whole Serbia can be expected at the beginning of next week. This means that the citizens of Serbia, partners and users can expect to receive all shipments to their post boxes in the coming days – the Post of Serbia said and added that job contests for the delivery and postman work posts in Belgrade and Novi Sad and Smederevo had been opened. The announcement was made several hours before the police and the prosecutor’s office entered its premises.
