Reconstruction and Extension of Bosko Buha Theater in Belgrade City Center to Start – City Looking for Company for Job Worth Half a Billion Dinars

The Secretariat for Investments of the City of Belgrade has published the tender for the execution of the works on the reconstruction and extension of the Bosko Buha Theater. The value of the job has been estimated at RSD 503 million, without the VAT. The technical documentation envisages for the hall of the facility at 3 Republic Square to have 288 instead of 274 seats following the reconstruction.

It is also planned for the double ceiling beneath the gallery to be demolished on the ground floor and for a new staircase and platform to be built in the entrance zone for the audience.

The construction of a new staircase is planned for the internal linking of the theater’s features – from the foyer on the ground floor, to the upper floor. This intervention entails the demolition of the existing stairs which lead to the gallery.

The raising of the ceiling/roof of the stage in the zone of the “small” atrium up to the level of the ceiling above the upper floor is planned as well.

The existing staircases – leading to the stage and linking the mezzanine with the technical rooms on the ground floor are to be demolished and expanded. The stairs leading to the stage are also to get a branch linking them with the foyer.

The existing gallery in the foyer is to be demolished and a new gallery is to be formed. The floor structure of the ground floor beneath the existing gallery is also to be demolished so that a new entrance and staircase would be formed. A ticket booth is to be set up in the zone of the entrance for the audience.

The reconstruction of the remaining side rooms of the theater is planned.

In March this year, the prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, said that the Bosko Buha Theater would not be closed or moved from the Republic Square.
