State to Subsidize Recycling of Old and Purchase of New Diesel Vehicles with EUR 2,100 from January 1

Serbia has announced a special contest for the replacement and recycling of old diesel vehicles, with Euro 1, 2 and 3 engines, which aims to reduce the air pollution in traffic. The owners of older cars will be able to apply for the replacement, that is, the recycling of their diesel vehicles by the New Year at the latest, at they will get up to EUR 2,100 from the state for the purchase of cars with Euro 6 engines.

The payment of subsidies for the replacement of 144,000 vehicles announced for the first cycle of the recycling of vehicles within the “Program for Air Protection” begins on January 1, 2024.

The “Program for Air Protection” was adopted by the Government of Serbia at the proposition of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, so that several hundred thousand old diesel engines would be removed from traffic as soon as possible.
