AIK Banka Officially Becomes Owner of Eurobank Direktna a.d. Srbija

AIK Banka has obtained approval from the National Bank of Serbia and other competent regulatory bodies and officially become the owner of Eurobank Direktna in Serbia.

In the coming period, AIK Banka and Eurobank Direktna a.d. Srbija will continue operating as two separate banks, without any changes that would influence the clients and services that these two banks provide today, AIK Banka says in its press release.

– The acquisition of Eurobank Direktna a.d. Srbija is a very important step in our strategy of further expansion and strengthening of AIK Banka, both in the local market and in the entire region. Thanks to the acquisition of Eurobank Direktna a.d. Srbija, our bank will become an even more important pillar of the community, with considerably bigger resources and possibilities for further development, modernization, innovations and even better services for all our clients – pointed out Aleksandar Kostic, the chairman of the Managing Board of AIK Banka.

It is added that AIK Banka, thanks to this transaction, after the merger, “will become one of the leading banks in the local market, with a share of 13% in the total assets of banks, a deposit base higher than EUR 4 billion and a remarkably strong capital base.”
