In October 2023, the Slovenian company RUDIS connected its 9 MW wind powerplant VE Alibunar I to 20 kV distribution network and supplied the first MWh of produced electricity to the electricity network.

Power plant, as the company says, will generate from 27 to 29 GWh electricity per year, which suffices to supply 6,000 households.

RUDIS bought the company Balkan Electric doo Vrsac in Serbia at the start of 2022. The company had the final building permit to build windfarm VE Alibunar 1 with three wind turbines with 3 MW rated power each.

Wind turbines, type WD164-3300 were supplied by the Chinese company Zhejiang Windey Co., Ltd., the sixth largest wind turbine manufacturer in the world.

Main components of wind turbine:

  • Rated power of wind turbine 3,3 MW
  • Tower - height 97.5 m, consists of four segments, bottom diameter of tower: 4,800 mm
  • Nacelle weighs 116 tons and it is installed at the top of the tower, where the majority of technological equipment is installed
  • Rotor with three 82 meters long blades, rotor diameter 164 m (total max height 179.5 m)
  • Generator with rated power 3.3 MW (conversion of mechanical energy to electrical energy)
  • Control system (in charge of rotating according to wind)
  • Power transformer for conversion of voltage from 1140 V to 20 kV
  • Middle voltage switchgear
  • Supervisory control and data acquisition system for wind turbine (SCADA)

Wind turbines are connected to the existing 20 kV substation “Alibunar mini”, located circa 1000 meters away via common MV switchgear and cables.

Investment value amounts to EUR 15.5 million. A majority, 75% of funds were provided by Nova Ljubljanska banka d.d. Ljubljana based on loan with maturity of 15 years. Own participation of the company RUDIS amounts to 25% of investment value.

All energy produced from the wind power plant is bought by the company PLC Interenergo d.o.o., Beograd on the basis of long-term power purchase agreement, RUDIS says.
