Statistical Office: Number of Employees in Serbia Lower by 3,378 in Third Quarter Compared to Second

In the third quarter of 2023 the total number of employed people amounted to 2,360,762 persons and when related to the previous quarter, the total number of the employed decreased by 3,378 persons, i.e. by 0.1%, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced today. The number of those employed with legal entities decreased by 4,776 persons, i.e. by 0.3%, and the number of entrepreneurs and their employees and persons individually running businesses increased by 2,626 persons, i.e. by 0.6%.

The number of registered individual agricultural producers (farmers) decreased by 1,228 persons, i.e. by 2.3%.

Of the total number of 2,360,762 employed persons, 1,892,341 persons were employed with legal entities, 415,392 were entrepreneurs and their employees and persons individually running businesses, and 53,029 persons are registered individual agricultural producers (farmers).

When related to the third quarter of 2022, the total number of the employed increased by 51,807 persons, i.e. by 2.2%; namely, the number of those employed with legal entities increased by 36,306 persons, i.e. by 2.0%, the number of entrepreneurs and their employees and persons individually running business increased by 18,145 persons, i.e. by 4.6%.

The number of registered individual agricultural producers (farmers) decreased by 2,644 persons, i.e. by 4.7%.
