An agreement on the sale of over 50 percent of shares of Mercator has also been joined by Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor (NKBM) and Gorenjska Banka. Banka Koper has not done it yet because the parent company has not given its consent, but the reliable sources say that it will also take part in the possible sale.

The main problem will be how to determine if the future buyers violate the rules of market competition, and such procedures usually take a lot of time. The buyer of Mercator is not known yet, but, according to unofficial information, its name may be revealed as early as this month. Matej Tomazin, an analyst at KD Sklad, noticed that the company's ownership structure had been slowly changing over the previous few weeks and Croatia's pension funds had become part of it. They are, as he said, surely familiar with the intentions of Agrokor to compete again for the acquisition of a majority stake in Mercator.
