The minister of trade of Serbia, Tomislav Momirovic, stated on Saturday that, if the Free Trade Agreement with China is ratified in the National Assembly of Serbia in the next seven days, the conditions will meet for it to come into effect at the beginning of March 2024.

– Of course, China is supposed to go through the procedure as well. We are counting on this agreement finally coming into effect in June and its true effects becoming visible to people at the end of 2024 – Momirovic said for Blic.

He added that the agreement encompassed 10,412 Serbian products and 8,930 products from the Chinese side for which customs would be removed in the next period.

– In the next steps, we need to increase the interest of companies which will be able to export under the most favorable conditions – the minister said.

He also said that it would be possible to export each product made in Serbia to the Chinese market “practically at the lowest price in Europe”.
