World’s Leading Fruit and Vegetable Distributors in Belgrade in Late October

On October 25, within the Fruitnet Forum South-East Europe, which will be held at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), local producers of fresh fruit and vegetables will have an opportunity to meet with the world’s leading importers, distributors, wholesale and retail representatives, such as ICA, REWE, Greenyard, and talk about concrete jobs and possibilities of being included in their supply chains, the CCIS announced.

This is the first forum that specializes in the fresh fruit and vegetable industry organized by the CCIS, with the support of the USAID project “Big Small Businesses” and the international media house Fruitnet Media International GmbH.

– Fruitnet Forum is a unique opportunity for Serbian producers of fresh fruit and vegetables to present their offer, to connect with big international chains in this sector and to reach new customers and markets. The event focuses on business meetings between local companies and renowned importers and distributors of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as retail chains from Europe and other world markets – points out Dusanka Kalezic, the adviser to the president of the CCIS. The chamber, according to her, recognizes the demands and needs of the Serbian economy for positioning in new markets and placing products from the food industry, especially in the segment of fresh fruit and vegetables.

The Swedish ICA, the German REWE and the Belgian Greenyard are serious business distribution chains of fresh fruit and vegetables, which have high demands regarding the business standards, product certification, quality, quantities and continuity of supply.

In the plenary part of the Forum, presentations dedicated to planning the production and export of fruit and vegetables from southeast Europe will be held, the best practices of doing business with trade chains and importers from the EU will be presented, and there will also be talk about the impact of the climate change and other unfavorable factors on the production and the trade.

For the purpose of a more efficient connecting with international partners, a special online B2B platform has been prepared for the companies – www.fruitnetforum.pks.rs, through which they can present the profile, the capacity and the capabilities of their company and schedule meetings with potential partners.
