Belgrade pronounced for "The City of future of Southern Europe"
In the second phase of competition for European cities and regions of the future in 2006, 2007, which is organized by the magazine "Financial times", Belgrade has been pronounced in Canne for the "City of future of Southern Europe". The winners of the region have also become Paris ("City of the future of Western Europe"), Brno ("City of the future of Central Europe"), Baku ("City of the future of Eastern Europe") and London ("City of the future of Northern Europe"), which in the final phase was pronounced for the "European city of the future for 2006/07". In the first round the main city of Serbia was chosen for the "City of future of central part of South-Eastern Europe".
The region of souther Europe, where Belgrade is "city of the future", besides Serbia also endours Slovenia, Croatia, BiH, Macedonica, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Turkey and meditarrenean islands Cypress, Malta, Sicily, Corzika, and Crete.
The competition for "Cities and regions of the future" organizes a special edition of Financial times for foreign direct investments - "FDI Magazine", and this prestige annual award is given for all continents. The award represents also a recommendation of the most famous economic newspaper in the world for all locations of where to invest. Categories and criteria by which the experts decide are the economic potential, business expenses, human resources, transport, informational technologies and telecommunications, quality of life for foreign investors, as well as the best promotional strategy for attracting direct foreign investments.
The announcement of "European city of the future 2006/07" will be in April-May edition of "FDI Magazine".
