The prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, presided over the session of the Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for GDP Growth, where it was agreed that there had been visible signs of stabilization and recovery of the economy in the third quarter, that the inflation was dropping and that a planned GDP growth of 2.5% in 2023 could be expected, despite the significant slowing down of the European economy.

The prime minister emphasized that, in the next year, considering the global events, there would be even more challenges and that it was important to work hard on implementing projects so as to ensure a growth of the Serbian economy, according to the website of the Government of Serbia.

Analyzing the sectors and fields, it was said at the session that, in August 2023, in the industrial production, a growth of the overall and manufacturing industry had been recorded, that the situation in retail was good, due to the increasing demand, and that the inflation was dropping.

As they noted, the prices of food have been stabilized, and the “Better Price” campaign has produced results in that field.

The prime minister also said that the momentum from the third quarter should be used in the next one and especially emphasized construction and agriculture.
