Djedovic Handanovic: I Expect Diesel Fuel Prices Not to Change in Coming Period

The situation in the market of oil products was the topic of the conversation between the minister of mining and energy, Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, the Association of Oil Companies of Serbia and the company Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS). At the meeting, it was concluded that the supply of the market with fuel was stable and that the price of diesel fuel was expected not to change in the next period, reported the ministry’s website.

– Although there has been a mild increase in excise taxes, that will not have a negative impact on increasing the price of diesel fuel and that is something that we want to secure for our citizens in the coming period as well. We thereby also reduce the inflation pressures, which is beneficial for multiple reasons. We will continue monitoring the prices of diesel fuel in Serbia and our aim is for them not to grow in the coming period and for us to secure predictability and secure for everybody. We will be helped in this by Naftna Industrija Srbije, which has been a reliable partner to the state before and strives to remain so in the future, and I expect the same from other oil companies in Serbia too – the minister said.

NIS is carefully following the situation in the global and local markets of oil and oil products and actively contributes to preserving the security and stability of the supply, it is added. At the same time, it takes into account macroeconomic factors as well in its business operations.

– Therefore, NIS will carry out all the activities that depend on it so that the prices of the basic types of fuel at gas stations would not increase in the coming period – it is pointed out.
