Russians Put Rent-A-Scooters in Streets of Belgrade

On sidewalks, on driving lanes, in pedestrian zones… Year after year, in nearly every street, one can see scooters and, increasingly frequently, electric ones. When it comes to the age group, there are no rules – they are used by the young, business people, older people, citizens of Belgrade, but also the guests of the capital city. The increasing popularity of this means of transport, it seems, has certainly been recognized by those who provide transport services, so scooter rental stations have been available for some time now. Yandex Go has decided to make that move and has already set up stations with yellow-and-black scooters.

How can you rent a scooter?

As can be seen on the Yandex Go website, in order to rent this means of transport, you need to download the app and click the “Scooters” option (“Trotineti”) and to then find the nearest parking place on the map. You then need to go to that location, reach the scooter and scan the QR code on the handlebar. You then pick the tariff and the ride can start.

On the Yandex Go website, it is clarified that the ride per minute is charged for in the following way: the starting is free, and then each next minute costs RSD 12.

There is also the “Another Scooter” option, which enables the reservation of up to three scooters from the same phone at the same time.

The scooters which can be rented are Ninebot Max Plus, equipped with a mobile phone holder with wireless charging. As pointed out, 40% of the phone’s battery will be charged over a 30 minute ride.
