The minister of finance of Serbia, Sinisa Mali, signed with the ambassador of Switzerland in Serbia, Urs Shmid, the protocol between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Switzerland’s Federal Council on the amendment to the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Serbia and Montenegro and Switzerland’s Federal Council about avoiding double taxation regarding income and property taxes, the competent ministry announced.

The Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Serbia and Montenegro and Switzerland’s Federal Council about avoiding double taxation regarding income and property taxes was signed in Belgrade in 2005 and it has been in effect since January 1, 2007.

The agreement has legal effect in the bilateral economic relations between the Republic of Serbia and Switzerland.

According to Mali, the amendments are harmonized with the Multilateral Convention to implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting – agreements on avoiding double taxation, signed in Paris in 2017.

– This document is the further improvement of the tax regulations with Switzerland – Mali said.

In addition to that, as said, the solutions which pertain to the taxation of corporate income, related companies, capital gains, as well as exchange of notifications between the competent organs of the countries-parties to the agreement, are improved and clarified.
