Chinese Industrial Park Torch as Example for Establishing Similar Centers in Serbia

The minister of science, technological development and innovations of Serbia, Jelena Begovic, talked to the deputy mayor of the Chinese city of Xiamen, Zhuang Rongliang, responsible for the fields of science and technological development. A special topic at the meeting was the industrial park Torch in Xiamen, which gathers high-tech companies and achieves a remarkable industrial output of 350 billion yuan, but which is increasingly turning to new areas, such as new materials, biomedicine and artificial intelligence, says the announcement of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovations.

The minister said that the park was an excellent example of a successful cooperation between high-tech companies and science and education institutions and that it could serve as inspiration for establishing similar centers in Serbia.

On that occasion, Begovic expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for their hospitality and emphasized the special honor given to her as a member of the delegation of Serbia at the CIFIT fair, where Serbia had presented strategic projects, such as the BIO4 campus, the Innovation District in Kragujevac, EXPO 2027 and the Investment Maps for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

She also invited Chinese partners to join the realization of those important projects.
