Tourism Potentials of Serbia Presented in USA

Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), as well as members of the delegation of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, led by the minister of tourism and youth, Husein Memic, presented, during the working visit to the US state of Florida, the tourism potentials of Serbia and the possibilities for improving the economic cooperation of Serbia and the United States of America in the field of nautical, sustainable and creative tourism.

The delegation of the Government of the Republic of Serbia is taking part in numerous meetings and gatherings with the topic of improving cooperation in the field of tourism, sustainable tourism and presenting Serbia as a tourism destination, according to the website of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS).

Meetings were held with the mayor of Miami-Dade County, Daniella Levine Cava, the director of the Miami International Airport, Ralph Cutie, as well as the management of the business council of the Miami-Dade County and the Port of Miami, the biggest passenger port for cruise ships in the world and one of the biggest cargo ports.

The promotion of tourism potentials of Serbia in Florida was especially discussed, considering the remarkable indicators and results that this federal state has in the field of tourism, it is added. It is pointed out that Florida could be a partner and a model for development: through the promotion of Serbia’s tourism in Florida, Serbia would also promote itself in the entire USA.

The representatives of Miami and Florida expressed a great interest in strengthening the cooperation with Serbia. In these talks, they pointed out that they saw Serbia as a point of connection with Southeast Europe, which leaves possibilities for a further boosting of tourism cooperation and the overall economic cooperation.

– Investments, commerce, IT sector, creative industries, tourism and education are the potential pillars of the cooperation between the Miami-Dade County and Serbia – said Tijana Maljkovic, the secretary of the Association for Tourism and the Association for Commerce at the CCIS.

The Florida officials presented the experiences in the development of a sustainable tourism, which rests on the values of environmental cooperation, local culture, tradition and authenticity.

In the continuation of the visit to the USA, the delegation of Serbia will visit Tampa and Orlando, where they will take part in the annual Tourism Conference, and numerous meetings with representatives of the tourism sector from the USA and other countries are planned as well.
