Expansion of Innovation Center on Zlatibor Planned – Requests of Digital Nomads Exceed Existing Capacities

The minister without portfolio in charge of balanced regional development in the Government of Serbia, Edin Djerlek, based on the Public Contest of the Program of Inciting Regional Growth in the Republic of Serbia in 2023, has awarded three contracts to the municipality of Cajetina on the co-financing of strategic and development documents worth a total of RSD 6.2 million, as announced on the website of the municipality of Cajetina.

Through participation in this program, the municipality of Cajetina will prepare its Strategy of Local Economic Development for 2024-2034, the Feasibility Study with project-technical documentation for the business block with the facility of the Innovation Center on Zlatibor, and the Strategy of the Control and Reduction of the Abandoned Animals in the Territory of the Municipality of Cajetina and the project-technical documentation for the complex of the Public Enterprise Zoohigijena Cajetina.

– The preparation of the feasibility study and the project-technical documentation for the business block and the facility of the Innovation Center Zlatibor (IBC), which has been recording a great success and interest since its founding, as shown by the increasing number of inquiries by tourists and digital nomads, which exceed the current spatial capacities, aims to further secure spatial and staff capacities of IBS in line with the demand, but also to attract more innovative companies and turn the municipality of Cajetina into a center for research and development in various industries – the local self-government says.
