Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric signed an agreement on Monday with the German company Muhlbauer on the allotment of a grant worth €500,000 for the creation of 100 new jobs.

Ciric said that more than half of employees would be highly qualified specialists with academic education, because they would work on a sophisticated product that Muhlbauer, the world leader in high technology manufacturing of chips for identification documents, would be making in Serbia.

Ciric added that Muhlbauer had already cooperated with the Serbian government in the production of biometric passports, ID cards and driving licenses.

Minister stressed that that company had seven factories in Germany, one in Slovakia, and it was going to have a new one in Serbia. He also added that the construction of that factory would commence in June and end in October.

Muehlbauer owner Joseph Muehlbauer said that the new plant would span about 4,000 square meters and pointed out that it was not going to be their only plant in Serbia.
