By mid-July, about 15 kilometers of high-speed rail were laid on the Novi Sad - Sajlovo - Rumenka section, and work is also being done on the installation of switches. In mid-July, crossties have been installed between Novi Sad and Rumenka, and rails were installed between Rumenka and Kisac.
- In mid-July alone, 216 pieces of rails arrived from China, each 50 meters long, with a total weight of about 650 tons. In the past year, 76% of the work on the undercarriage was done, 67% of the work on the construction of bridges, culverts and underpasses, and works on the contact network, telecommunications, signaling, station buildings and other facilities are being carried out along the entire route. So far, works worth almost forty percent of the total value of the work have been carried out - according to this company.
The Novi Sad - Subotica railroad is 108 kilometers long. It is the third section of the 200 km/h railway through Serbia, from Belgrade to the Hungarian border.
The contractor is the Chinese consortium China Railway International and China Communications Construction Company.
The value of the contract is USD 1.16 billion. The deadline for the completion is until the end of August 2025, but according to plans, the works will be completed by the end of 2024.
