Outdoor swimming pool Tasmajdan needs to be reconstructed again! - The depth reduced in 2019 does not comply with FINA standards

The Tasmajdan Sports Center has announced a tender for the reconstruction of the outdoor swimming pool and pool equipment.

As stated in the public invitation, the reason for conducting the procurement is that, during the previous reconstruction of the outdoor pool in 2019, its depth was reduced, so it no longer meets the requirements for holding international competitions in water sports, in accordance with "FINA" standards.

- That is why it is necessary to raise the height of the existing Olympic outdoor swimming pool. In addition to these works, as part of the changes to the aforementioned procurement, the swimming pool equipment will also be renovated. This means the purchase and installation of an electrolyzer, which will enable the production of chlorine, the reconstruction of the complete room for filtering pool water, the replacement of 6 filters for filtering pool water, dosing pumps , pipelines, automatic valves, filtration pumps, electrical distribution cabinet and more - the tender documentation states.

The value of the work is estimated at RSD 240 million.

The tender is open until August 16.

To remind our readers, the reconstruction of the outdoor swimming pool on Tasmajdan was completed in the summer of 2020.

As Tasmajdan Sports Center announced at the time, the works had been carried out on the rehabilitation of the pool shell, the construction of a new, pro-chromic, trough, overflow channels and pool lighting. Part of the pool equipment and the water treatment system were replaced, the ground floor was renovated, a larger number of showers were installed, the toilets were reconstructed, the grandstands and the sub-stand area were renovated. The entire area is additionally greened.

At the beginning of the rehabilitation, the then-deputy mayor Goran Vesic said that the depth of the pool would be reduced, which would not be 4.8 meters but two meters, but that, as he said, "will still enable all major competitions to be held, only that pool to be safer and easier to clean".

Additionally, the reconstruction of the children's pool was completed last year, and a small pool for babies was also built.
