Italy is interested in investing in the development of robotics in Kragujevac, said the Ambassador of Italy to Serbia, Luca Gori, during his visit to Kragujevac, where he discussed future cooperation with Mayor Nikola Dasic and his associates, especially in the field of technology.

- Kragujevac is a very important city from the aspect of cooperation between Italy and Serbia. A large number of our companies are active in your city and we are very satisfied with what this cooperation has brought so far. What we are most interested in is investing in the development of robotics, given that there is a university here, with high competences, as well as industrial support. Next year, we plan to organize a big event, a congress, where we will present something more concrete on that topic, as well as projects on which we can work together - said the Italian ambassador.

Mayor Nikola Dasic pointed out that the economic ties between Kragujevac and Italy are very strong and that around 50 Italian companies are currently operating in the city, according to the official website of the city of Kragujevac.

- In the past, this cooperation was more focused on Fiat and Iveco, but today we have about 50 Italian companies operating in our city. Italy, although it is aware that it is the biggest business partner in Serbia after Germany, still wants to follow trends in order to reposition itself even better on the market. Next year, they plan on organizing a conference regarding "high-tech" industry, artificial intelligence, and robotics. They are interested in cooperation in the field of technology at a higher level. Kragujevac has something to offer as the first industrial city in the Balkans. There is our University Center, Data Center, and Innovation District under construction. They are planning to invest more seriously in our area, and they invited us to cooperate in several ways. We have also discussed intensifying cooperation with Italian cities with which we already have fraternal ties and cooperation protocols, such as Reggio Emilia and Carrara - said Dasic.
