Citizens are worried about the frequent air traffic problems due to the possibility of this interfering with their annual leaves. Various interpretations could be heard in the public, so it’s not clear to them what their rights are if there are flight delays or cancellations. The director of the National Association of Tourism Agencies (YUTA), Aleksandar Senicic, explains that, according to the law, the trip organizer is responsible for all services within the arrangement.

– However, the situation is far more complex when it comes to air traffic than when it comes to bus transport – Senicic says for the Novosti daily.

– Even if the agency would find an empty plane in case of a delay, it couldn’t take off without the permits and the approved time. The agency cannot influence any of this. Our Civil Aviation Law on Obligations and Property Relations does not define in detail that passengers have the right, for rented planes, to get a compensation for a delay, except if a service has not been used as a consequence – he says.
