Sava Shipyard goes on auction in Novi Sad on May 25
The fourth attempt to sell Sava Shipyard in Macvanska Mitrovica will be made in Novi Sad on May 25.
As people at the Municipal Council of the Association of Independent Trade Union confirmed for Tanjug news agency, there are some potential buyers interested in the shipyard in bankruptcy.
All previous attempts to sell the shipyard, including two auctions held during the privatization process and the third attempt to sell the company in bankruptcy, were unsuccessful because there were no interested potential buyers.
The starting price will this time amount to EUR 2.2 million.
Sava Shipyard, founded in 1919, has so far delivered nearly 350 vessels for various purposes to domestic and foreign customers, and it also overhauls ships.
Over the last ten years, the shipyard has been mainly building vessels for Dutch customers.
