Pirot to reconstruct Youth Stadium - EUR 600,000 earmarked in cross-border cooperation funds

Branislav Kostic, deputy mayor of Pirot, said in an exclusive statement for Plus Radio that the results of an open competition launched in 2009, as part of the cross-border cooperation project, had finally been announced in Sofia.
The municipality of Pirot will receive a grant for implementation of the Youth Stadium reconstruction project in association with the municipality of Pravec. The total value of the project is EUR 600,000.
Municipalities of Pirot and Montana will receive a grant for implementation of the Small Sports Infrastructure Development Project in the amount of EUR 426,000.
Pirot and a non-government organization from Montana will also receive a grant for the project that will enable improvement of the development capacities of local self-governments in the amount of EUR 180,000. Each municipality will get a half of the grant.
Pirot also applied in association with the municipality of Kostin Brod for a grant for the Economic Development Agency Establishment Project worth EUR 508,000. The project will be approved under the condition that certain municipalities give up the implementation of their projects.
Branislav Kostic says that municipalities are to provide 15 percent of required funds for each project from their own sources. The municipality of Pirot will receive a total of over EUR 600,000. It should be expected that, once all the necessary activities are finished, the works on infrastructure facilities will commence in September at the latest.
