The PE Roads of Serbia has filed to the Ministry of Environmental Protection the request for determining the scope and the content of the environmental impact assessment study of the project of the construction of the south ring road around Valjevo, section 1.

The project encompasses the route on the cadaster parcels in the cadaster municipalities of Belosevac, Mrcic, Papucke and Valjevo, 2.4 kilometers long.

The preliminary design of the ring road was prepared by Istitut za puteve AD Beograd.

According to the document, in addition to the planned route of the IB-grade state road no. 27, the Spatial Plan also defines a part of the planned route of the South Ring Road of the city of Valjevo (Section 1), which begins at the planned circular intersection on the IB-grade state road no. 27 and then further stretches parallel with the flow of the river Kolubara (on its north side) westward, all the way to the circular intersection, that is, its connection with the business zone of the city of Valjevo.

– The second part of the south ring road (Section 2), which will be subsequently defined by the preparation of the suitable planning and technical documentation, will be an extension of the South Ring Road around the City of Valjevo to the existing IB-grade state road no. 21 – the project says.

The south ring road around Valjevo is planned with all the planning and technical elements of a IB-grade state road, and the main goal of the construction is to improve the service, primarily for cargo traffic.

To clarify, said state road IB-27 passes through central areas of Valjevo, so the mixing of transit traffic and city traffic, along with the railroad and the rail station, causes numerous problems at the peak traffic load.

– The construction of this connection would considerably reduce these problems and all transit traffic would be moved outside the city of Valjevo, which would lead to numerous positive effects – the plan points out.

Said traffic route is a connection of the future south business zone of the city of Valjevo with the planned corridor of the IB-grade state road no. 27, Loznica-Valjevo-Lazarevac, section Iverak-Lajkovac interchange.

The route is designed for a speed of 100 km/h, with a road cross section consisting of two physically separate deck slabs, with two traffic lanes per deck slab.

Four lanes 3.50 meters wide each are planned.

Section 1 ends with a circular intersection which is the connection with the business zone of the City of Valjevo.

A circular intersection at approx. km 2+400 is also planned, as the connection with the IB-grade state road no. 27.

On this section, a culvert will also be built at approx. km 0+850, as will be a bridge on the river Krivosija and the local road at approx. km 1+900.

Let us remind that the tender for the planner of the south ring road around Valjevo was opened in December lest year, and earlier that year, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure opened the public call for the selection of the strategic partner for the construction of the south ring road around Valjevo and the ring road around Svilajnac.

The job was awarded to the consortium of the companies Srbijaautoput doo Beograd, Integral Inzenjering ad Laktasi, MHM Projekt doo Novi Sad, Institut za puteve ad Beograd and Teamenergo doo Beograd.

The then minister of construction, Tomislav Momirovic, announced back in February 2022 the beginning of the construction of the south ring road around Valjevo.
