At the moment, the website features an index of 35 positions in gaming, split into 10 departments. Each position is explained in detail – what the person’s job is, but also how to prepare for the interview, which tools they should master, which skills are expected and which formal and informal education provides a good basis for doing these jobs.
In addition to that, the website contains a database of all education institutions in Serbia which provide formal or informal education in the field of gaming. There are also blogs, videos and interviews with people who already make video games, and the contents are to be regularly expanded.
The importance of the Shift2Games platform has also been recognized by the industry and education institutions.
– Shift2Games is not just a website for people interested in gaming, but a one-of-a-kind project that we haven’t had the chance to see before at this level of seriousness, content quality and transparency. Although its primary target group are people who are considering moving to this industry, or young people who are only just exploring their professional interests, this platform is also a unique database of knowledge, experiences, guidelines… This is also a true example of quality cooperation between the association, companies, enthusiasts and education institutions, which creates value for the entire community. With plans for addition content development, innovative approaches to information sharing and connecting with other platforms – long-term value is inevitable – emphasized Milica Petrovic Jakovljevic, Head of HR at Webelinx Games and SGA Management Board member.
– A website with professions and education systematized and described in such detail is of great use to everybody who wants to get informed and start a career in video game development. I wholeheartedly recommend it to students and all those who are interested in this field, whereas I use it as a relevant source of professional titles in the field of gaming – said Mina Cvetkovic Pavkov, Head of Visual Effects, Animation and Game Art Department at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade.
The platform, as well as the whole Shift2Games concept, is designed by SGA with the support of Creative Tech Serbia, a supercluster pilot project supported by USAID Serbia and ICT Hub Belgrade (through the project Serbia Innovates). The platform’s significance has also been recognized and supported by the Swedish regional project RECONOMY, implemented by the organization Help with the support of Helvetas, and the main partner for creating the TV show “Fortuna Esports.”
