Construction of MHPP Mlanca Planned in Kraljevo Territory in Beloseva, Jasenska and Strainjska Rivers Basin

The investor Fitosoll from Kraljevo is planning the construction of the SHPP Mlanca on the rivers of Beloseva, Jasenska and Strainjska in the Graicka river gorge in the territory of this city.

The MHPP Mlanca is planned as a derivation/run-of-river hydro power plant which features adequate hydrological and civil engineering structures for the transport of water and the storage of the equipment where kinetic energy is transformed into electrical energy. The pipelines are planned to run parallel with the flows of said rivers. The planned power is 978 kW.

The MHPP Mlanca consists of three water intake structures, accompanying pipelines and the engine room, with the following features:

– The water intake structures – the dams for the MHPP Mlanca on the Beloseva, Jasenska and Strainjska rivers. The dams will have a hydraulic height of up to 1.8 m and a width of up to 12 m. A fish path is included in the plans for the dam.

– The pipeline from the water intake for the entire route is planned to pass through undeveloped land, occasional forest land, forest or uncategorized municipal (city) roads or meadows. The planned pipelines are located in an alternating manner, on the left and right banks of the rivers, depending on the characteristics of the terrain and the obtained approvals for the passing of the pipeline route. The total pipeline route (of all five planned sections) is around 3,721 meters.

– The engine room of the MHPP Mlanca is planned beneath the confluence of the Strainjska river into the Jasenska river, that is, on the right bank of the Graicka river. One Pelton Turbine with the accompanying equipment is planned for the engine room.
